#facepalm

Look: you were only able to interact with the communities about Japanese Cartoons for about a year. With a single small forum being your only interaction in the last three years having SHELTERED YOU from this bullshit.

This bullshit has been around since the late 1990s. I know — I was a source of that weeb bullshit in 1999. Also in 1995 you’d not be ordering your cartoons on CD at that point. You’d have been getting them via VHS with hard-subs on them. You’d not be ordering series on CD until roughly 2000/2001… and that wasn’t common until 2002. So you got your history wrong.

The lowering of cost of entry barrier has been more of a benefit than a pain. As the stupidity you are only noticing because you are actually now exposed to weebs… was even worse prior to the barrier of entry being lowered. As the weebs could make excuses without people calling them on the matter as easily. Now that the bar of entry is lower — it is much easier to call weebs on their weeby bullshit.

All this shit you are complaining about here? It has been here to complain about since the late 1990s if you were to actually jump in and socialise with the weebs. I know — I was a source of that bullshit back as early as 1998.

I’m grateful it is much easier to fact check these days — even if it makes the issues that much more obvious and harder to hide from.

Your prescriptions for improvements are a good thing to see — but every six months or so… somebody pretty much comes up with a similar list.

This stuff you’ve ran into — is why a lot of people understand that Anime was a mistake.
