Help! I’m trapped in a Nintendo 3DS Play Coin prison of my own creation!
So, I’ve not given up on the Nintendo 3DS — and still do not consider the Nintendo Switch to be a proper successor to the 3DS. The Switch is a great successor to the Wii (in ways the Wii U could never be). However, in my usage of the 3DS, I’ve made the mistake of installing the “For those who walk a lot” Homebrew App
This has caused all kinds of calamity
It started off innocent enough

I thought, “you know, 10 play coins a day isn’t that much” it would barely be an issue
My hubris! My own actions being hoisted up by my own petards!
You see, while most games make it seem like you cannot have enough play coins to do the fun features — they are balanced to handle the ten play coin a day limit. To only play somewhat unkindly with other games
However, the average person walks about six thousand steps a day. This is more than enough to completely DESTROY THE BALANCE OF THE IN GAME PLAY COIN ECONOMY!
If only I didn’t attempt to play god! If only I did not install the custom firmware! If only!
Now I’m a wreck!

Even with my rather limited amount of walking, I’m having to look up games that use play coins! I’m barely able to average three thousand a day with my current level of healing up from not being able to die… and already I’m having issues spending all the play coins
I’ve measured how much I need to walk to “not appear lazy” — I’ve not measured how much I need to carry. I have an idea of how much I need to be able to carry… but not a number
The number for walking to “not appear lazy” is an average of 50 thousand steps on a work day. Including resting on a weekend having about three thousand a day means about 39 thousand steps a day every week
Now, if you were to walk about six thousand steps, you’d have too many play coins for the game. If I were to get to the goal I need to have to actually be able to get people to hire me (I deal with people moving goal posts a lot, and need to counter that)
THIS IS FAR MORE PLAY COINS THAN CAN BE CONCEIVABLY COMPREHENDED! MUCH LESS PROPERLY USED IN A GAME!
What a foolish fool I was to make such a foolhardy fool decisions of pure foolishness!
My hubris! My sheer hubris! It shall destroy me!
