Keeping the mind sharp

So… part of how to get my stuff back in order is to play video games rather often. Not in a way that interferes with working to learn new things or in a way that interferes with my exercise. Though… I’ve heard plenty of drug addicts use very similar statements in regards to their choice drugs of use.

I mostly have Monster Hunter games that I’m enjoying playing — and using to help me with 3d space handling. I also have Rusty’s Real Deal Baseball as something I’m working on my skills with playing. Naturally there are the Fire Emblem games and Pokemon games. I likely will add and remove other games into that list after a while.

I do not currently have any rhythm games I am working with. As the hacked DS I had my copies of Elite Beat Agents and OSU on that system. However the contacts the DS cart makes use of… are… uh… wonky. I cannot open it up to look at it, because the DS uses specialised screws. Which is helluva annoying. Eventually I’ll acquire a screw drive to open it, and fix the insides — but… it will probably be easier to just purchase another hacked DS system. As the going price for those (when they are around) is roughly 10$CAD.

Though, I also am procrastinating into setting up a Play On Linux account, and running OSU! on my various Linux systems.

This issue is… I don’t have a computer set up that I really want to be playing too much for games upon. I could probably play a couple GameBoy, GameBoy Advanced, Advanced games and SNES games upon my current main (and only) laptop. I would however want to start creating a system where I can easily backup and recover save files for those games. Some kind of rsync program I could make certain to regularly do on this system or something… but that is kind of annoying.

This however… is really annoying when attempting to play older Monster Hunter games and the Armoured Core games. Yeah… the Armoured Core games is a series that I am learning how to play stuff with… as I kind of want to figure out how to do vertical tank stuff better. I don’t know why — but it might have something to do with my fondness for the FreeBSD computer systems.

I also have to start getting down to the local arcade to play their DDR machine. Though, I would not mind having my own DDR set up — but that would require permanent housing that I can expect to be in for a while.
