Microsoft is full of promise… that is kind of why people tend to feel so hurt about what happens.

If you want some awesome White Papers, Microsoft is the place to go for that stuff. The issue is they (at least in the past) have had a tendency to hire a bunch of people who I’d not trust to fix the clock on my VCR to implement them (And I still have a VCR as an important appliance until they officially re-release The Saint-1997 onto some more up to date media).

With most of the stuff you are talking about — it is all impressive. They’ve had some good ideas sneak into the various annoying systems they’ve released for some time now.

It is more always been the disappointment with failed potential that has propelled the dislike for Microsoft.

Maybe this new stuff won’t be as bad… but I’ll take it in stride. I don’t want to get hurt again. I mean… I supported Microsoft Bob… as it struck me as the most honest way to do a GUI. You know — that way to do things you do on the command line, but way more inefficiently?
