This is a mixture of Fan Theory and Fan Fiction. Nothing has happened to Joss most of the contents here. I likely will make various fan theories and head canons based upon this alleged history that I am guessing is how stuff works.

First Age: The Era of White Diamond (65000BCE..30000BCE)

So here is where I get rather controversial about my statements. I’m going to suggest that the Gems have existed for roughly the same amount of time as the humans. This might seem strange — as humans do not have a massive empire that the Gems hold onto. How the heck could the Gems be much further.

Well… Gems do not have to eat. Gems do not require shelter. Gems do not require clothing. Gems do not require clean water. Gems do not have a limit on their life length. Gems just require to have a patch of land to reproduce.

Humans need food. Humans had to work on agriculture to be able to function. Humans require shelter from the elements. Humans have had to work on architecture and building materials. Humans require clothing. Humans have had to learn leather working, hide tanning, looming, knitting and all that other stuff. Humans require water to not contain stuff that makes it hard to drink. Humans have created many water purification methods. One involves turning it into coffee. Another involves making it into an alcoholic beverage. Another involves filtration. In amongst many others. Humans have a life limit that is shortened based upon how exposed they are to their surrounding dangers. With early “cave men” having a life span of eighteen years — and feudal era humans having a life span of twenty-five years.

In that time limit humans have to learn what the previous humans know, improve it slightly, and then have children to teach what they understand stuff onto.

Gems on the other hand… can solely focus on reproduction of their own species. Many of which have psionic abilities… can see the future and just negate the various things humans need tools to accomplish.

Perhaps the Homeworld Gems had predators. Perhaps they just had no direction structure or form until White Diamond emerged. Likely both.

White Diamond did what she could to help her Gems find planets that could host Gem reproduction to allow for more Gems to exist. As the various predators of the Gems seemed to grow in population. Likely due to their food supply being in higher supply.

White Diamond worked on creating the early Gem injectors that would help speed up Gem reproduction.

6 planets had been taken on and part of her empire at the end of this era.

Yellow Diamond’s Era of Striking Back (30000BCE..20000BCE)

There was no reason for the Gems to keep hiding from their predators. The Gems had the ability to take on all those who oppose them. It was time to strike back. A Diamond for the military forces of the Gems was commissioned.

White Diamond being more a Diamond of exploration and invention was not a leader suited for full on out war or genocide. White Diamond was best suited to be on a space craft exploring the far reaches of space or in her lab building something.

Yellow Diamond was to put the Gems underneath her into an ability to handle fighting that which eats gems. That which eats rocks in general. Yellow Diamond lead the path to eradicating all threats and problems to Gems everywhere.

This era ended with White Diamond having gained 8 planets, and Yellow Diamond having her 2 military complex worlds.

Blue Diamond’s Era of Expansion (20000BCE..10000BCE)

The era of Blue Diamond starts towards the end of Yellow Diamond’s Gems hunting anything that was a harm to Gems everywhere to extinction. The fighting that had escalated to the point of total destruction of those that eat rocks had gotten to the point where it was winding down. All that was left was various zoos being built for the creatures they had nearly wiped from existence.

However — they had run out of planets they could easily reproduce on within a reason range to work with. There were some gems that could work together to make a planet prime material for having Gems function on. So a Diamond was commissioned to handle making hostile planets more suitable for Gem reproduction.

Yellow Diamond worked closely with Blue Diamond so as to avoid any of the last remnants of those that eat rocks would not decimate her forces which were more about making planets friendly — rather than fighting various forces.

Many of the earlier planets that were to be for Blue Diamond were aided in being added to the empire by Yellow Diamond who was still having nightmares about some of the creatures she and her crew had faced. Blue Diamond ended up feeling fear of things she had never known. Just by Yellow Diamonds over protective tendencies.

White Diamond mostly worked behind the scenes to build things that would make Blue Diamonds work easier to accomplish.

This era ends with White Diamond having 12 planets, Yellow Diamond having 7 planets and Blue Diamond having 5 planets.

Pink Diamond’s Golden Era (10000BCE..6000BCE)

White Diamond had just worked to formed her thirteenth planet — and it was pretty obvious the the Gem Golden Age was to begin. Nothing could stop the Gems. They were the penultimate creation of all the glory. Everything could do to be more Gem like in their nature.

Having had a Diamond created for the early formation days, a Diamond created for striking back…and a Diamond created for reshaping the universe in their image. It was agreed they’d have a Diamond to represent the golden age that they had entered into. Pink Diamond was constructed — and her empire was a planet that was barely outside the reach of Gems. Her planet was to be the gateway to areas of the universe so far beyond what Gems had ever been able to acquire before.

Pink Diamond was to be the mark of the future the Gems held as the Bronze Gods of the universe.

Pink Diamond was raised being spoiled rotten. Given gifts from not only her own gems — but the gems of her sisters. She was told she was a Goddess not just by the creatures on the planet she was working on — but by the entire Gem Empire that was now inevitably going to take on the entire universe.

It made no sense that there were reports of Gems under Pink Diamond giving reports of perversion being committed by their Diamond. Fusions the Diamond would partake in. Acts the gems underneath the Diamond would be expected to partake in. None of these reports were ever taken with any credibility. The Diamond’s authority was unquestionable. A Diamond could do no wrong.

Eventually, Pink Diamond lost control of her subordinates and was shattered. Ending the Golden Era with a shatter for her Pink Diamond Dust.

This Era ended with 13 planets owned by White Diamond, 7 planets owned by Yellow Diamond and 5 planets owned by Blue Diamond. One planet was under contention as to who was to have it.

The Rebellion Era (6000BCE..present)

Starting with one of Pink Diamond’s personal special forces guards shattering Pink Diamond — many Gems sided with this Rose Quartz as their leader. Their leader in wanting for proper treatment of Gems under their Diamond. This questioning of a Diamond and attempting to gain shelter from the abuse of their Diamond had them viewed as problematic Gems — and cast out.

The war was expected to be one sided. The Yellow Diamonds were thought to be able to wipe out the rebellion forces. Blue Diamond was expected to be able to find and handle hostilities.

The issues were that Blue Diamond had issues focusing. She blamed herself. She should have seen these hostilities. It was kind of her thing. She blamed herself for the ending of the Golden Era. For a while she took on the combat to levels that had Yellow Diamond stepping back, and not interfering. White Diamond worked with indirect help. Finding stuff out there that might help — and spending time in the lab.

Blue Diamond’s mental health deteriotated. Yellow Diamond detested fighting other gems. Both hated the new weapons that were being developed. Eventually the cluster is put into Pink Diamond’s world — and the Rebellion is left to destroy itself.

It was a forgone conclusion the rebellion would just destroy each other without a Diamond to lead them.

This brings us up today, where a young man named Greg Universe walks into the history of the Gems.
